This area is uninterruptedly surrounded for more than 90km by a clear emerald green to intense blue sea, awarded the ‘Blue Flag’ by the European Union together with the coastal towns for the quality of the seawater and of the facilities.

From Livorno to Piombino, lovely coastal towns follow one another: Marina di Castagneto, San Vincenzo, Bibbona, Rosignano, Vada, Quercianella, Castiglioncello. Beaches with white sand like the ones in San Vincenzo and Baratti are alternated with the darker beaches of Marina di Castagneto, Bibbona and Cecina and with cliffs which have been eroded by the wind where the sea is deep and full of fish.

Thanks to numerous well-equipped tourist-harbours this area offers great opportunities for pleasure yachting.

From the harbours of Livorno or Piombino it is furthermore possible to reach the beautiful islands of the Tuscan archipelago like Elba, Capraia and Giglio by comfortable, fast ferries and to enjoy their clear blue sea in small bays and charming inlets.
